About StraightUp
Independent building inspections, by licensed builders.
StraightUp Inspections carries out building inspections across Canberra and the ACT. We work for the person paying for the report, and nobody else.
How we work
Every inspection is carried out by a licensed builder — someone who has managed and delivered construction work, not only read about it. That is what makes the recommendations practical: you get told what an issue means for the building and what a sensible next step looks like.
We are not affiliated with real estate agents, builders or developers, and we take no referral fees from them. The report goes to you, it says what the inspector found, and it is written in plain English so you can act on it without a translator.
We inspect what is safely accessible on the day, and we say so plainly when something could not be reached. An inspection is a considered assessment of a property’s visible condition — it is not a guarantee about parts of the building nobody can see.
Licensing and insurance
Inspections are carried out by licensed builders, with strong knowledge of ACT building requirements and common local construction issues.
We carry professional indemnity and public liability cover.
What independence means here
- You commission the inspection, and the report is yours.
- We take no commission, referral fee or incentive from an agent, builder or developer on the transaction.
- The findings are recorded as they are found, whether or not that suits the sale.
- If something is outside the agreed scope or could not be accessed, the report says so rather than glossing over it.
